Part of the Solution

We began making face shields for Temple University Hospital on April 18. We just completed four weeks of volunteer service.

Over 5,000 face shields have been produced for Temple Hospital!

It was a tremendous effort by TDI employees, crew chiefs for ChariTdi, and outside volunteers – who learned of this effort through social media or word of mouth. Thank you all for signing up to help.

We are so proud of the volunteers’ work being done at the leased warehouse in Conshohocken. The site continues operating two 4-hour shifts per day, seven days per week. This particular place was selected because it is huge, it is open, and it allows for the volunteer workstations to be spread out by a minimum of 20 feet. Rectangular tables are provided by us, along with folding chairs, so that volunteers can be seated while working.

Safety is paramount here. The crew chief takes everyone’s temperature upon arrival. Volunteers must wear a mask. Latex gloves, safety glasses, and hand sanitizer are provided. You can even wear one of the finished face shields during the shift, and take it home with you!

It is a fun atmosphere with coffee and donuts provided to get us started. There are opportunities to work at multiple work stations if you like, photo opportunities for those who are not camera-shy, and we provide lunch for any volunteers. People who have volunteered come back several weeks in a row. It has been a great feeling for everyone to be a part of the solution!

There are still a bunch of opportunities to help out. If you can volunteer, please sign up using our contact form. I hope you will consider at least one 4-hour shift. Also, please share on your social media. Tell your family and friends about the opportunity to help those on the front lines.

We hope to see you here.

Taking a Stand

Our volunteers are from all walks of life. Together, we have manufactured and delivered well over 4,000 face shields … and counting.

This is no small feat – especially considering we closed shop this past Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day. (We hope everyone enjoyed some time off.)

So here we are in week 4. And we would love to see more volunteers this week and next, in our Conshohocken site. More shifts are available, and new dates have been added as well. You can sign up here: Volunteer Registration

If you are itching to get outside, do good things for others, make new friends, all in a safe environment, you should seriously consider volunteering with us. We continue to maintain best practices during the Covid-19 Pandemic, including face-masking and social distancing.

At a time when so many of us have felt helpless and frustrated, creating face shields has been our way to safely take a stand.

Making a Difference

The numbers are in! 4,140 face shields have been donated to Temple Hospital since starting this effort.

Way to go, everyone. Woot! Woot!

Without breaking stride, we continue making face shields to benefit front-line heroes in the medical community. It would not be possible without the incredible team effort – from generous donors such as Avison Young, to our volunteers, some of whom are from KMRD and others being from TDI Technologies.  Thank you, everyone, for the enormous achievement and for your team spirit. You are making a big difference. Here’s why…

Living within the corona-virus pandemic has become the new normal. As of May 3, 2020, the number of confirmed cases in the United States is a staggering 1,122,486 people. The need for face shields still exists. We are looking for more volunteers to help out. Can you donate 4 hours of your time? Please visit Volunteers for Heroes to start the process and join us at one of the sites. We would love to see you here.

About Face

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, TDI Technologies, Inc., a science and technology company based out of King of Prussia, PA, was eager to become involved in creating solutions to help us fight the fight. To that end, we formed a non-profit organization known as ChariTdi.

ChariTdi initiated its first call-to-action for able-bodied volunteers to manufacture PPE for local healthcare workers. We asked for volunteers that could spare 4 hours, with no prior experience necessary. We were able to secure a warehouse in Conshohocken, PA, and another warehouse at the Northeast Philly Armory. We are happy to report the results of our efforts in the first week. Together we manufactured and delivered over 1,500 face shields!

To those of you who have already volunteered to help……THANK YOU!

The face shields are being used by Temple University Hospital. We are told these are the best face shields they have access to, so these were sent to Anesthesiologists and Respiratory doctors and nurses – because they are the most at-risk for contracting COVID-19.

Thank you to the volunteers for their time and contributions to our community. You are the reason for our success!

We are looking for more volunteers in the coming weeks as the demand for face shields grows. To sign up, please visit Volunteers for Heroes to start the process and volunteer at one of our manufacturing sites.

Helping Hands

A strong effort on getting the face shields processed and to healthcare workers carries on!

1,820 total masks have shipped out.

A big thank you to our volunteers for all of your help this weekend. ❤

This past weekend, you helped make a difference in the lives of people who are at the front lines of the Covid-19 pandemic. All of you are awesome, and it has been an absolute blast working with you! Thank you for all of your hard work

But, it is not over yet. The need for face shields still exists, and we are looking for more volunteers. To donate 4 hours of your time, please visit Volunteers for Heroes to start the process and volunteer at one of our sites. We would love to see you here.
